SOHS Swiss Online Hospitality School® (registered by the Swiss Federal Institute of Intellectual Property – Registration No. 822344) recently underwent an intensive, full-day institutional inspection conducted by ASIC (Accreditation Service for International Schools, Colleges & Universities).
SOHS operates as part of the OUS International Academy in Zurich, which is a branch of ISBM International School of Business Management in the Canton of Lucerne, Switzerland – allowed to operate independently by the Cantonal Board of Education – and all are members of the Swiss International University (SIU) network. SIU is a state-accredited institution licensed by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic (KG), ensuring that every degree awarded is legal, recognized, and accepted worldwide.
A Mission Focused on Economically Disadvantaged Countries
SOHS is dedicated exclusively to students from economically disadvantaged countries. If you reside in or hold citizenship from a high-income country, SOHS services are not available to you. This mission ensures that our resources are directed to those who need affordable, quality hospitality education the most.
Why ASIC’s Inspection Matters
ASIC is one of the most respected and internationally recognized accreditation bodies in education – officially recognized by the British Government, listed in the U.S. Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) International Directory, and a member of both the International Network for Quality Assurance Agencies in Higher Education (INQAAHE) and the British Qualifications Framework (BQF).
Its inspections go far beyond symbolic checks. They are rigorous, evidence-based evaluations comparable to regulatory audits, designed to ensure that institutions meet the highest standards in academic quality, governance, facilities, and student services.
The Scope of the ASIC Review
During the inspection, the ASIC auditor carried out an in-depth assessment in four key areas:
Academic Excellence – Reviewing the quality, relevance, and global alignment of programs.
Governance & Compliance – Examining leadership accountability, policies, and adherence to legal frameworks.
Facilities & Infrastructure – Evaluating the adequacy of resources to support innovative and effective learning.
Student Support & Wellbeing – Ensuring that students receive full academic and personal support.
ASIC is known for its strict, impartial, and uncompromising approach to quality assurance. Institutions that fail to meet its high standards risk losing accreditation, making successful completion of the inspection a strong indicator of transparency, accountability, and commitment to ongoing improvement.
Part of a Network with Over 25 Years of Experience
The SIU network began in 1999 offering on-campus programs and has been a leader in online education since 2013. With offices in major cities including Bishkek, Zurich, Dubai, Riga, and Lucerne, and more to come, our reach is global while our mission remains focused on delivering education where it is most needed.
Our Commitment to Accessible Hospitality Education
At SOHS, our mission is to combine globally recognized qualifications with a targeted social purpose – providing high-quality hospitality education to students from less advantaged backgrounds. By focusing on this mission, we aim to expand career opportunities in the hospitality sector for those who may otherwise be excluded from formal higher education.
Quality assurance is not a one-time milestone – it is a responsibility we uphold every day in service of our students and our mission.
